Acapulco Gold is one of the most legendary strains of all time. One of the few true landrace options still around, there's more folklore surrounding this strain than almost any other. A favourite of the '60s and '70s and mentioned in movies more times than anyone can count, Acapulco Gold is a strain worth growing, no doubt about it.

Acapulco Gold strain information
Capable of pumping out buds as golden in both color and quality as the sand on Acapulco’s beaches, this is a strain that has legendary status like almost no other. A sativa-dominant hybrid celebrated for its therapeutic potential, gorgeous looks, and exotic flavor, Acapulco Gold grows tall, fast, and strong in the right climate.
And while this strain did dominate global markets almost 60 years ago, it is as relevant today but much harder to come by. Thankfully the magicians over at MSNL have got their hands on some and are making the golden goodness available for the first time in a good while.
One of the first strains that spat out + 20% THC, and a huge yielder.
What Are The Effects Of Acapulco Gold?
Acapulco Gold is about 75% Sativa, and the effects are very much in line with this number. A fast starter with a huge rush, expect a high that is quite cerebral and energetic. There is enough Indica in there to keep you from getting too wired, but it's the initial rush that makes this a great strain for daytime use. Often described as a very ‘’classic’' Sativa effect, some users have even compared it to a strong coffee buzz.
If you want a strain to drop your anxiety levels, best to look elsewhere - but, if chronic pain and inflammation are more your concern, you’re in luck.
How do you grow Acapulco Gold Seeds
We mentioned before that its important to get the climate right if you want golden buds, but its actually vital if you want to grow this strain at all.
Acapulco Gold thrives in a drier, warmer growing environment than most strains, and can shoot up to almost 9 foot when left to grow wild. Expect huge yields of at least 500-600gr/m², but you will need to do a little training if you want to get those numbers. Super cropping and topping are almost mandatory here.
But, if you dial everything in, you’re going to be treated with the dankest of dank, and goldest of buds.
Acapulco Gold Taste And Smell
Dank, taste, citrusy, and sweet in one single puff. Acapulco Gold is not your standard, run-of-the-mill strain. It's got a unique flavour that delivers plenty of zing and punch, thanks to the dominant terpenes, Myrcene, Camphene, and Carene.
