For most people, yield is a big factor in choosing what strain to grow. The simple fact is that most of us want not just maximum value for money, but also maximum reward for our time and efforts. Average yields are improving all the time. These days, yields of 400g/m2-500g/m2 (indoors) and 400g/per plant-500g/per plant outdoors would probably be considered about average even though they would have been outstanding in the relatively recent past.

Dos-si-dos #33 by Barney’s Farm
Sativa-dominant Dos Si Dos #33 is a cross between the original Dos Si Dos and Gelato #33. It has around 22% to 28% THC and low CBD. Indoors, it will grow to about 0.9M, flower in 8-9 weeks and yield up to 700g/m2. Outdoors, plants will grow taller, be ready for harvest in mid-October and yield up to 2Kg per plant. The flavour is cookies laced with mint and lime and this strain has excellent resistance to mold, diseases and pests.
Colossal Purps by Mega Buds
Sativa-dominant Colossal Purps is a cross between Grandaddy Purps and Elephant Bud. It has around 22% THC and 0.2%-0.4% CBD. Indoors it will grow to about 2M, flower in 10-11 weeks and yield up to 750g/m2. Outdoors, it can grow up to 3M, be ready for harvest in mid-October and yield up to 1Kg per plant. The flavour is sweet and fruity with undertones of peppery (Haze) spices. This strain is only just Sativa dominant, so be prepared for it to grow outwards as much as upwards.
Blue Dream Feminized by Humboldt Seed Organization
Sativa-dominant Blue Dream is a cross between Blueberry and Super Silver Haze. It has around 19% THC and 0.1% CBD. Indoors, it will easily grow to 2M, flower in 9-10 weeks and yield up to 600g/m2. Outdoors it can reach 3M-4M, be ready for harvest in mid-October and yield up to 3Kg per plant. The flavour is exactly what you’d expect from the genetics, berries, especially blueberries with peppery undertones. This strain is known for its resistance to mould.
Monster Profit by Heavyweight Seeds
Sativa-dominant Monster Profit is a cross between Amnesia Haze and Dream Machine. It has around 22% THC and 1.2% CBD. Indoors it will grow up to 1.5M, flower in about 9 weeks and yield up to 800g/m2. Outdoors, it will grow up to 2.5M, be ready in late September and yield up to 1Kg per plant. The flavour is quite sweet but has a base of robust earth and a citrus edge.
TNR Feminized by KC Brains
Indica-dominant TNR Feminized is a cross between Thai and KC 2. It has up to 15% THC and up to 5% CBD. This strain is intended for outdoor growing. Outdoors it will grow to up to 4M, be ready for harvest around the middle of October and yield up to 1KG per plant.
If, however, you want to grow this strain indoors, then you can use plant training to keep its height down to about 0.8M. It will flower in 9-12 weeks and you can collect up to 150g per plant. The flavour is very much Thai with a balance of sweetness and spices. This strain also has good resistance to mould, diseases and pests.
Cluster Bomb by Bomb Seeds
Indica-dominant Cluster Bomb is a cross between Sensi Skunk #1, Cinderella 99 and Bomb #1. It has up to 20% THC and moderate CBD. Indoors it will grow to about 1M, flower in about 7-9 weeks and yield up to 800g/m2. Outdoors it can grow up to 1.5M, be ready around the end of September/start of October and yield up to 800g per plant. The flavour is fruity-sweet with lots of berries and citrus.
Neville’s Haze by Greenhouse seeds
Sativa-dominant Neville’s Haze is a cross between Northern Lights No. 5 and Haze. It has up to 21% THC and 1.1% CBD. Indoors this strain can easily clear 2M. It flowers in 10-14 weeks and yields up to 700g/m2. Outdoors, it can easily reach 4M, will be ready around late November/early December and can yield up to 800g per plant. The flavour is a balance of sweetness and fuel, edged with citrus lemon and Haze spices.
Incredible Bulk by Dr Krippling
Indica-dominant Incredible Bulk is a cross between Big Bud, Super Skunk and Green Spirit. It has up to 24% THC and up to 1% CBD. Indoors, this strain can break 2M, it flowers in 7-8 weeks and can yield up to 1Kg/m2. Outdoors, it can grow even taller. It will be ready around early/mid-September and can yield up to 1.5Kg per plant.
The flavour is based on skunk but there’s also the sweetness of tropic fruits, plus a dash of herbs, spices and menthol pine. If you’re growing this strain indoors, you must flip it before it reaches 0.6M or its height may get out of control. Otherwise, this strain can take just about anything you throw at it.
The Ultimate by Dutch Passion
Sativa-dominant The Ultimate is of unknown parentage. It has THC of up to 18% and moderate CBD. Indoors, it can stay as small as 0.6M, but if growing conditions are good, it can reach up to 1.3M. The flowering time is 8-10 weeks and the yield is up to 600g/m2. Outdoors it will generally break the meter mark, albeit not by much. Harvest is mid-October and yield can be up to 600g per plant. The flavour is candy-sweet, like bubble gum or marshmallows, but there’s also an edge of hash spices and pine.
Critical + Feminized by Dinafem
Indica-dominant Critical + Feminized is a cross between Big Bud and Skunk. It has THC of up to 23% and CBD of up to 0.1%. Indoors, it can head towards 2M. The flowering time is around 7 weeks and yield can be up to 625g/M2. Outdoors, it can easily break 2.5M. The harvest is around early October and you can collect up to 1.3Kg per plant. The flavour is very much citrus lemon but there’s an edge of pine and spices.
Whether you are growing indoors or outdoors all of the strains on this list will produce a bountiful crop.
